Space-based solar power can deliver clean, continuous energy to Earth — 24 hours a day, in any weather, to any location. We're building the coalition to make it happen.
Stay informed →"Energy from Space" is evolving into a series of events. In 2026, we're bringing the Space Solar Power conversation directly into the energy and climate spaces where it belongs. We'll be co-hosting and participating in events alongside the industry leaders, utilities, policymakers, and customers who need to hear this message most. Because ultimately, space solar power isn't just a space story. It's an energy story.

A dedicated program produced by the Space Frontier Foundation — bringing the most credible voices in Space Solar Power into direct dialogue with utility, grid, and energy industry leaders. Despite rapid global progress, most energy professionals have not yet encountered Space Solar Power as a credible near-term energy option. That gap is closing fast.

The grid needs power that never stops. What if the answer is 100 miles up?
As part of SF Climate Week 2026, YPE Bay Area and Space Frontier Foundation are convening energy leaders, investors, and innovators for an honest conversation about whether SSP can deliver — and what it would take to get there.
Speakers: John Bucknell, Founder & CEO at Virtus Solis Technologies, Marc Berte, Founder & CEO at Overview Energy, and Chris Davlantes, Founder & CEO at Reach Power.

webinar | April 30, 2026
On April 30, the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF) presented to the U.S. Energy Association on the importance of space solar power (SSP). The session was led by Srikanth Raviprasad and Benjamin Calloway from the Foundation.
About 150 people attended, including USEA members, energy and space leaders, researchers, engineers, academics, policymakers, and others from around the world.
The webinar introduced SSP, covered key challenges facing the U.S. energy sector and how SBSP could help address them directly. It focused on SSP’s potential as a reliable, scalable, and dispatchable clean energy source - especially with growth in power demand with advances like AI, and also walked through what it would take to make SSP a reality, including technology needs, regulations, immediate use cases, and current efforts across government, academia, and the energy industry.
The webinar wrapped up with a clear call to action: start including SSP in energy planning now. Building early demand and identifying initial markets will be key to rolling out SSP step by step as a reliable clean energy source for the U.S. and beyond.
